Databases

We provide you with a fully managed, MySQL®-compatible database. You only take care of your data - we handle operation, backups and updates.

Each database includes:

  • MySQL®-compatible
  • phpMyAdmin access
  • Flexible performance and storage
  • Automatic backups

You can adjust performance and storage at any time - prices are shown live during configuration.

Creating a Database

  1. Open Databases → Create Database
  2. Enter a name
  3. Optionally select a project
  4. Set username and password
  5. Set performance level and storage
  6. Click Save

Your database will be ready within seconds.

Connecting

You find the connection details in the General tab:

  • Hostname - shown after creation
  • Port - 3306
  • Database - matches the name
  • Username - set by you
  • Password - set by you

Use these details in your application or a database client.

phpMyAdmin

Via the gear menu in the top right you open phpMyAdmin. There you can manage your database directly in the browser - create tables, view data or run SQL queries. Access is additionally secured via your LAY7 Cloud login.

Configuring a Database

General

Here you see the connection details and can change the password.

Performance

The performance level determines how much computing power and memory your database gets. Start low and increase as needed - you can adjust this at any time.

Storage

Here you adjust the storage space (1 - 300 GB). Increasing is possible at any time.

Status

  • Green - Database is running
  • Orange - Change is being applied
  • Grey - Database inactive
  • Red - Database faulty or blocked
