Domains

Through LAY7 Cloud you can register domains or connect existing domains. Domains are the foundation for Routes - they make your Spaces and Containers accessible under your own addresses.

Adding a Domain

Under Domains → Add Domain you have two options:

1. Register or transfer a domain

Register a new domain directly through us or transfer an existing domain from another provider.

1. Enter the desired domain
2. Choose the nameservers (ours or your own)
3. Enter the contact details
4. Complete the order

The domain will be set up automatically and ready shortly.

2. Connect an external domain

If your domain should remain registered with another provider, you can add it as an external domain:

1. Enter the domain
2. Save

Afterwards you need to configure the DNS records at your domain provider to point to our infrastructure. You will find the required records in the domain overview after adding.

Managing a Domain

General

Here you see the status of your domain and basic information.

Nameservers

Only for registered domains: Here you manage the nameserver settings.

Contacts

Only for registered domains: Here you manage the domain contacts (Owner, Admin, Tech).

Domains and Routes

Once a domain is present in your account, you can use it for Routes. Create a new route under Routes and select the domain as the base for your URL.
